Islamic Society of South Australia is pleased to announce that the Islamic section of the cemetery at Smithfield is now ready and operational.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for our Muslim community in South Australia, providing us with a vital resource for generations to come.

As many of you know, our Muslim population in South Australia has reached nearly 40,000 and is increasing by about 10,000 every six years, mashAllah.

This growth underscores the urgent need for a dedicated Islamic cemetery section, ensuring we have a proper place to honor our loved ones and serve our community’s future needs.

However, this milestone would not have been possible without your support. Our agreement with the Adelaide Cemetery Authority stipulates that we need to purchase 1,000 plots over the next four years to secure this site permanently. This initiative will also allow us to plan for an additional 10,000 graves in the future, ensuring our community has what it needs for years to come.

We urge each of you to consider purchasing a plot. This decision is not just about securing a resting place for yourself or your family; it is a contribution to our entire community.

We are also pleased to offer the option to buy plots through installments over four years, making it more accessible for everyone to participate in this important initiative.
